Outdoor training at the Beach!
As of Thursday 1st April, Severn Beach club will be operating outdoors! The government roadmap allows organised sport to take place outdoors, so we are thrilled that we can start training as a group again.
The safety of the students is the top priority, so we will still be maintaining social distancing and following all guidelines. This impacts some aspects of our syllabus, so we will do what we can to accommodate as much as possible within the guidelines.
Over the last 12 months, a lot of students all around DTSD have been doing what they can to maintain their training - whether it's online classes through Skype, Zoom or Facebook, or watching videos. However you have been maintaining your training, you should be proud that you have continued to learn and train, even if it's not as much as you were before. Learning online, especially learning something physical and technical, takes real perseverance, so to anyone who trained through any online media - a huge well done. Some students graded over the last 12 months, in completely different circumstances to usual, which shows fantastic spirit and determination. For those who were unable to grade, or were unable to, a huge well done for continuing to train.
As an instructor, it really has meant a lot to me that my students have continued to train. They are an inspiration; and I am truly grateful that we have maintained our Tang Soo family atmosphere, as best we can. I am sure all the instructors of DTSD feel the same, and we are so proud of all of you.
This last year has impacted our mental health, as well as physical health, but now, we are pleased that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Can we come and train with you?
Of course! Anyone wishing to join us down in Severn Beach, we will be training in the field outside the village hall from 18:00 - 19:00.
Parking is available in the field (hall) car park.
See you all soon!
Tang Soo!
